DR. LISA MCROBERTS
Department Head at LSU School of Fashion Design, completed a couture specialization in Paris and established her custom couture business. Now she is creating jobs in several industries while connecting the Louisiana swamp with the fashion industry by using one of the state’s most interesting resources – the alligator. Dr. McRoberts is a member of Fashion Group International and received New Orleans Fashion Week 2015 Trailblazer Award.
Bonnie Broel Countess, author and designer started her career in fashion over 35 years ago as a dressmaker designing and sewing dresses for elite clientele. As her clientele and business grew she focused on specializing in creating and designing custom gowns for brides, debutants and Mardi Gras queens. Over the span of her career, Broel has been the recipient of many awards and honors, including the first to be awarded the International "ROSE" Award (Retailer of Style and Excellence), Fashion Group International Lifetime Achievement Award, honored at New Orleans Fashion Awards Gala and this year celebrates 50 years on the Avenue in the historical House of Broel Mansion.
Lesley was born and raising in New Orleans, LA and is a graduate of Sacred Heart and UNO. Lesley has worked for Gucci (her favorite designer) and also Gambit New Orleans. Her love of retail has guided her through her fourteen year career. Her dream was to open a Hemline store, which she did in 2009 with her first location in Metarie, LA. Lesley's boutique has contributed the retail placement for the Top Design Competition prize package for four years and is an avid supporter of local designers and artisans, as evident by the beautiful locally made pieces that stock her Hemline shelves.
